About the job
Anthropic is an AI safety company building reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We are hiring an Engineering Manager to lead a team building AI-powered cybersecurity products. The role spans research, product, and go-to-market, prototyping and shipping products that use frontier models to defend code and infrastructure. You will set technical direction, partner with research, and stay close to customers. This is a builder's role: expect to be in code, customer calls, and research reviews.
Responsibilities include leading and growing the team, staying close to customers and the security community, owning architectural decisions across the full stack, coordinating with GTM and partnerships, and growing next-layer leadership.
Ideal candidates have 8+ years of software engineering experience and 4+ years managing engineers, have shipped cybersecurity products in production (SIEM, EDR, vulnerability management, application security, threat detection, incident response, or security automation), have taken a team from prototype to scaled deployment, are technical and hands-on, have strong product instincts, communicate clearly, and care about Anthropic's mission. Strong candidates may also have hands-on security expertise, experience building on LLMs, strict data-handling environments, startup and enterprise experience, and ecosystem partnerships.
Annual salary: $405,000—$485,000 USD. Location: San Francisco, CA or New York City, NY. Hybrid policy: expect to be in office at least 25% of the time. Visa sponsorship is offered.
