Expert Concept Artist

We’re looking for an Expert Concept Artist to join our Brand Creative team and help define and communicate the artistic vision for high-profile marketing content across CD PROJEKT RED’s IPs. In this role, you’ll combine hands-on concept creation with artistic leadership, developing original concepts and pre-visualization that set the visual direction for trailers, cinematics, key art, and marketing campaigns. Working closely with creative leadership and teams across Brand, Franchise, and Game Development, you’ll translate ideas into compelling visual storytelling, guide concept development from early exploration through production, and help maintain a consistent artistic vision across projects. As an Expert, you’ll also use your experience to support and mentor other artists, share knowledge, and contribute to raising the quality of concept art and visual development across the team.

• Develop concept sketches, illustrations, digital paintings, mood paintings, keyframes, storyboards, paint-overs, and pre-visualization assets based on scripts and creative briefs.
• Design characters, environments, props, creatures, and cinematic scenes, translating written concepts into strong visual storytelling.
• Define and communicate visual direction for trailers, animated shorts, key art, and other marketing content.
• Collaborate with Brand, Franchise, Game Development teams, writers, storyboard artists, and other creative partners to develop and align concepts.
• Adapt existing game assets and visual language into concepts tailored to marketing and promotional content.
• Provide expert guidance throughout concept development, reviewing and refining artistic direction based on feedback and production needs.
• Present and communicate creative concepts to both artistic and non-artistic stakeholders, helping align visual direction across teams.
• Collaborate with external studios, agencies, artists, and production partners to ensure alignment with the intended artistic vision.
• Mentor other concept artists, share knowledge and best practices, and contribute to the development of the concept art discipline.

• 7+ years of professional experience in concept art, visual development, or pre-visualization within the games, film, television, or animation industries, including experience delivering high-profile commercial or entertainment productions.
• Expert-level skills in concept art, digital painting, illustration, composition, anatomy, perspective, architecture, shape language, color theory, and visual storytelling.
• Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and experience with industry-standard 3D tools such as Blender, Maya, or ZBrush.
• Strong understanding of game development and cinematic production pipelines.
• Ability to explore and iterate on visual concepts quickly, incorporating feedback while maintaining a clear artistic direction.
• Experience providing artistic leadership, mentoring artists, or leading concept development within game, film, or animation projects.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to present and explain complex visual ideas, manage feedback, and influence creative decisions across different disciplines and levels of seniority.
• Strong problem-solving and stakeholder management skills, including experience collaborating with external creative and production partners.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Knowledge of Unreal Engine 5 is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of The Witcher and Cyberpunk universes is highly desirable.
