About the Role
Neo4j is seeking a Global Tax and Treasury Senior Manager to build the tax and treasury function for a global, high-growth enterprise software company. This is a high-visibility, hands-on role with end-to-end responsibility for global tax compliance and planning, cash and liquidity management, banking, debt administration, and the processes and controls needed to support Neo4j's continued international growth. The role will partner closely with Accounting, FP&A, Legal, and external advisors across Neo4j's global operations.
What You'll Do
- Own Neo4j's global tax compliance calendar, including U.S. federal, state, and local income and franchise taxes; international corporate income taxes; sales and use taxes; and VAT/GST across jurisdictions.
- Manage global tax advisors and coordinate preparation and review of income tax returns, estimated payments, extensions, tax audits, and other tax authority inquiries.
- Lead the income tax provision process under ASC 740, including deferred taxes, valuation allowances, uncertain tax positions, and tax account reconciliations.
- Own transfer pricing policies, intercompany agreements, and contemporaneous documentation for cross-border services, software and IP arrangements, and intercompany funding.
- Manage indirect tax compliance and strategy for software subscriptions, cloud offerings, professional services, marketplace transactions, and channel sales.
- Evaluate tax implications of new products, international expansion, legal entity changes, acquisitions, and post-acquisition integration.
- Monitor international tax developments, including OECD Pillar Two, digital services taxes, withholding and PE exposure, and SaaS taxability rules.
- Build scalable, audit-ready tax processes, documentation, and internal controls.
- Oversee global tax compliance for employee equity compensation, including stock options and RSUs.
- Oversee tax attributes and incentives, including R&D tax credits and NOLs, and coordinate Section 382 analyses.
- Own global cash management, including daily cash visibility and concentration across legal entities, bank accounts, and currencies.
- Manage banking relationships and the bank account lifecycle, including account openings/closures, signatories, and segregation of duties.
- Administer debt facilities, including covenant monitoring, interest and fee calculations, lender reporting, and coordination with Accounting, FP&A, and Legal.
- Manage foreign exchange exposures and recommend risk-mitigation or hedging strategies.
- Oversee investment of excess cash in accordance with company policy.
- Structure and administer intercompany funding, loans, settlements, and repatriation.
- Own treasury policies and controls, including dual approvals, payment and wire controls, bank portal access reviews, fraud prevention, and acquisition integration support.
- Partner with Accounting on monthly close and financial reporting for cash, debt, interest, FX, intercompany balances, and income taxes.
- Partner with FP&A on liquidity forecasting and with Legal on entity governance, intercompany arrangements, financings, and regulatory requirements.
- Drive systems and process improvements across NetSuite, tax applications, and banking platforms.
What We're Looking For
- 7+ years of progressive tax experience, with meaningful exposure to treasury operations; Big 4 or national firm experience required.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. corporate and multi-state taxation, ASC 740, and core international tax concepts, including transfer pricing, GILTI, Subpart F, withholding taxes, and Pillar Two.
- Experience with indirect tax issues affecting enterprise software, SaaS, cloud services, professional services, cloud marketplace transactions, and cross-border digital services.
- Treasury experience covering global banking, debt administration, intercompany funding, and foreign exchange exposure management.
- CPA or advanced degree in taxation preferred; CTP or relevant treasury experience is a plus.
- Experience working across multiple international legal entities within a global, high-growth software company; acquisition integration experience is a plus.
- Comfortable operating with significant ownership in a lean team, moving fluidly between strategy, technical analysis, process design, and hands-on execution.
