IT Systems Engineer, Client Platform Engineer

Anthropic is an AI safety company building reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. The Endpoint team (Client Platform Engineering) treats the device fleet as a distributed platform, running MDM as a production service and managing all device configuration as code. This role owns the platform end to end—infrastructure, configuration, patching, software pipelines, and telemetry—and builds zero touch provisioning and Claude-driven automation to eliminate operational toil. It sits at the intersection of security and developer experience.

• Own endpoint configuration as code (MDM policies, profiles, remediation scripts) with canary stages and rollback.
• Operate the MDM platform as a production service, including infrastructure as code, observability, upgrades, and incident response.
• Build patch management automation with rapid enforcement timelines.
• Design zero touch provisioning and run software distribution for the fleet.
• Turn fleet telemetry into policy, dashboards, and drift warnings, and automate with Claude.
• Partner with Corporate Security on hardening, binary authorization, and compliance controls.
• Serve as the deep escalation tier for endpoint issues.

• 8+ years building secure IT systems in complex environments (or Staff-level project leadership).
• Experience managing fleets of thousands of macOS and Windows devices via modern MDM.
• Treat endpoint configuration as code (scripted deployments or full GitOps).
• Deep knowledge of one platform (macOS internals like launchD, TCC, system extensions; or Windows internals like CSPs, PowerShell, BitLocker) and working knowledge of the other.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, product engineering rigor, and documentation skills.

Strong candidates also have operated MDM as a service, used open source endpoint tooling, built progressive rollout systems, run infrastructure as code in public cloud, managed mixed fleets, and bring Swift/Go or LLM experience.

Annual Salary: $325,000—$360,000 USD

Bachelor's degree or equivalent. Hybrid policy: all staff in office at least 25% of the time. Visa sponsorship available.
