Anthropic is a public benefit corporation focused on creating reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. As a Manager of Startups Applied AI Architects, you will lead a team of technical architects to help startups build AI-native products with the Claude Developer Platform. You will drive adoption of frontier AI, set the vision for technical partnership, and personally carry relationships with strategic early-stage accounts.

Responsibilities

Lead, develop, and grow a team of Startups Applied AI Architects.
Drive team performance through goal-setting, coaching, and technical development.
Personally lead pre-sales engagements with high-priority startup accounts.
Build and own the segment's technical playbooks, including technical evaluations and LLM solution architecture.
Partner with Account Executives and GTM leadership to shape segment strategy.
Surface insights on startup usage of Claude and translate into product feedback.
Build Anthropic's technical presence in the startup ecosystem through events and content.
Stay ahead of the AI engineering landscape, including context engineering, eval frameworks, and agentic architectures.

Qualifications

8+ years in technical customer-facing roles (Solutions Architect, Sales Engineer, Forward Deployed Engineer, or similar), with 5+ years leading pre-sales or technical go-to-market teams.
Strong track record of building and developing high-performing SA teams.
Deep experience with startups or high-growth technology companies.
Builder credibility: have built and deployed LLM-powered applications.
Hands-on expertise with context engineering, LLM evaluation frameworks, and modern AI architectures.
Comfortable with Python and fluent in LLM frameworks and tools.
Passion for making powerful technology safe and societally beneficial.

Compensation

Annual salary range: $315,000—$380,000 USD.
