Principal Security Field Engineer

The Security Field Engineering team helps data teams solve complex problems by empowering customers to understand the security of the Databricks platform and helping account teams address questions during security reviews. Reporting to the Head of Security Field Engineering, you will meet with customers to answer questions, train Databricks team members, and build customer-facing content such as slide decks, white papers, and code customers can use. The team prioritizes scale—building docs and agent skills/knowledge base articles over meetings.

Impact: act as a security expert working with field teams and customers on architectures, compliance questions, and concerns; contribute via customer interactions, scalable slides/white papers, internal enablement, process improvement, automation, or technical leadership; come up to speed on common security and compliance regimes; identify customer pain points and work with product management and product marketing; contribute to internal-facing services and automation.

• 7+ years of technical pre-sales or post-sales experience explaining hard concepts
• Understanding of complex security principles and architectures, and communicating them simply
• Real-world experience in multiple security domains such as IaaS+PaaS+SaaS, network and endpoint security, web applications, vulnerability management, identity management, and SIEM
• Some scripting or programming, and excited to use AI to scale impact
• Understanding of the Databricks platform is a strong plus

Pay ranges by zone: Zone 1 $270,300—$371,700 USD; Zone 2 $243,300—$334,500 USD; Zone 3 $229,800—$315,900 USD; Zone 4 $216,200—$297,350 USD. Total package may include annual performance bonus, equity, and benefits.
