About the Role

Samsara is seeking an experienced Manager to join its Public Policy and Government Relations team, focusing on U.S. State and Local markets. The role involves developing policy strategies, tracking legislation, building relationships with government officials, working with sales teams, managing consultants, and creating content to advance Samsara's interests.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute policy strategies in key U.S. state and local markets.
  • Identify and track proposed bills and regulations, assessing impact and developing engagement strategies.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to drive adoption of Samsara's technologies through policy initiatives.
  • Build and maintain relationships with governors, mayors, legislators, and regulatory officials.
  • Assist with filings, comments, and testimony for legislative and regulatory bodies.
  • Manage outside consultants and create compelling content for policymakers.

Qualifications

Minimum: Bachelor's degree; 5+ years of relevant public policy, political, or government experience; in-depth understanding of U.S. policymaking; demonstrated state/local government affairs experience; strong advocacy and communication skills; ability to manage multiple projects in a remote environment.

Ideal: Passion for emerging technology policy; experience in state/local government or in-house at a tech company; knowledge of privacy, AI, cybersecurity, transportation, or data-driven policy issues.

Compensation

Annual base salary range: $90,737.50—$137,250 USD. Total rewards include performance-based bonus, equity, professional development stipend, comprehensive health and parental leave plans.
