About the Role

Smartsheet is seeking an experienced sales leader to lead a team of Account Executives as a Regional Director for Federal, Aerospace & Defense, and FSI accounts. This role is based in the Washington D.C. area and is part of the Public Sector Enterprise Sales Leadership team.

Responsibilities

  • Build and lead a sales team to exceed quarterly and annual sales quotas.
  • Deliver accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual sales forecasts.
  • Serve as player/coach in complex, solution-based sales processes across Federal, A&D, and FSI accounts.
  • Develop new business by coaching Account Executives on account-focused strategies.
  • Drive senior executive engagement in target accounts.
  • Execute sales management disciplines including account, opportunity, and relationship planning.
  • Partner with Sales Engineering, Consulting, Customer Success, and Marketing to close software and professional services solutions.
  • Travel as needed (30-50%).

Qualifications

  • 10+ years in the software industry with current SaaS experience.
  • 5-10 years in sales management.
  • Proven track record leading Federal Gov’t sales teams to exceed quotas.
  • Experience with land-and-expand strategies in Federal accounts.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute value-based sales methodologies (e.g., MEDDIC).
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

US Base Salary Pay Range: $200,000—$250,000 USD, plus market competitive incentive opportunity.
