About the Role

Join the dbt community team at Fivetran to lead digital engagement, focusing on managing and growing the dbt Slack community. This role cultivates a welcoming, high-signal space for data practitioners and partners with internal teams to strengthen member experience and surface insights.

Responsibilities

  • Own day-to-day operations of the dbt Slack community, including moderation, support workflows, and Code of Conduct enforcement.
  • Develop scalable moderation and support workflows, coach moderators, and recruit new ones.
  • Create content systems for announcements, highlights, and community storytelling.
  • Surface community insights to Product, Marketing, and Support, and close the loop with the community.
  • Monitor engagement metrics and run experiments to improve them.
  • Manage the community tool stack (Slack workflows, analytics, knowledge base, integrations) and document best practices.
  • Plan incident response with Legal/People/Security as needed.
  • Support cross-channel engagement beyond Slack (forums, social, events).

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of digital community management in a global or distributed environment.
  • Experience owning operations for a large online community (Slack/Discord/forum), including moderation and member support.
  • Strong understanding of online community dynamics and trust-building.
  • Experience building moderation and support workflows, including Code of Conduct enforcement.
  • Excellent written communication and facilitation skills.
  • Experience with community tooling and analytics (e.g., Slack workflows, Common Room).
  • Data-informed decision making, defining KPIs and reporting outcomes.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration with Product, Marketing, Support, and Developer Experience.
  • Cultural fluency and high emotional intelligence.

Compensation

Pay Range: $130,068—$162,585.50 USD
