About the Role

Cloudflare is seeking a Senior Customer Engineer to serve as the technical lynchpin through the entire sales cycle for Public Sector prospects and customers. This is a work-from-home role based in San Francisco, Sacramento, or Arizona, with 30-40% travel.

Responsibilities

  • Drive technical discussions and implementations to generate new business and expand existing accounts.
  • Qualify prospect use cases, lead demonstrations, design solutions, and collaborate on proofs-of-concept.
  • Advise existing customers on technical best practices and strategic guidance.
  • Support the long-term technology strategy of customers.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years in a customer-facing sales or consulting role.
  • Demonstrated understanding of internet technologies: OSI Model layers 1-7, routing TCP/UDP, DNS, HTTP(S), SSL/TLS.
  • Comfort with on-premise infrastructure and networking configurations.
  • Foundational understanding of AI and interest in building AI-driven capabilities.
  • Bonus: Certifications in Azure/AWS/GCP, graduate degrees.

Compensation

Estimated annual salary for San Francisco based hires: $231,000-$275,000+ OTE (Base + Commissions). Compensation may be adjusted based on location.
