Senior Customer Engineer

Cloudflare is seeking a Senior Customer Engineer to focus on SLED (State, Local, and Education) and Local Government sectors. This quota-carrying technical role owns the technical relationship from discovery through adoption and expansion, using AI-augmented workflows to reduce administrative work.

• Lead technical discovery, build architectures, and deliver demos and Proofs of Concept across Cloudflare's Security, Networking, and Developer Platforms tailored to public sector procurement and compliance.
• Oversee technical onboarding and implementation, monitor customer health and telemetry, and resolve integration bottlenecks.
• Carry a variable quota tied to new business and account growth; lead technical Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) for C-level executives.
• Act as a trusted technical advisor throughout the customer lifecycle.
• Leverage AI agents and internal platforms to automate tasks like RFP responses, sandbox provisioning, and telemetry monitoring.

• Proven experience selling into SLED, Local Government, or Municipal agencies.
• Experience in a customer-facing technical role (Solutions Engineering, Customer Engineering, Sales Engineering, or Forward Deployed Engineer).
• Broad technical expertise in web security, networking (routing, DNS, DDoS mitigation), cloud infrastructure, and enterprise architecture.
• Track record in quota-carrying or revenue-aligned environments with understanding of SaaS metrics.
• Exceptional presentation and stakeholder management skills.

• Hands-on experience with Cloudflare's developer platform and AI ecosystem (Workers AI, AI Gateway, Vectorize).
• Experience with prompt engineering, LLM orchestration, or RAG architectures.
• Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, or similar languages for custom integrations and edge functions.

Estimated annual salary (OTE, Base + Commissions): $231,000-$275,000 for San Francisco based hires; $221,000-$267,000 for Los Angeles based hires. Eligible for Cloudflare's equity plan.
