About the job
Asana is a leading platform for human + AI collaboration. The Consumption Based Billing & Licensing (CBBL) team builds the systems that decide what customers can access, what they've purchased, and what they've used, owning the infrastructure behind licensing, entitlements, and usage-based billing for Asana's newer products and add-ons.
In this role, you will lead and grow a team of engineers working across backend systems, platform services, and customer-facing experiences. You will set technical direction, shape the roadmap for licensing and billing capabilities, and partner with Product, Design, Data, Finance, Sales, and other engineering teams to turn ambiguous business needs into shipped solutions. Projects include licensing and access control, usage tracking and billing, admin dashboards, bulk license assignment, and trial/add-on provisioning flows.
We are looking for strong engineering management experience, ideally leading a team through complex product and platform work, with experience in fintech systems such as billing, monetization, entitlements, or payments. You should have strong technical judgment, a track record of hiring and coaching engineers, and clear communication with senior stakeholders.
Preferred qualifications include experience with usage-based pricing, SaaS billing/licensing/entitlement systems, admin tools, and platform/backend/distributed systems.
Compensation: The estimated base salary range is $238,000-$270,000 CAD. Additional components may include equity and benefits.
Benefits include mental health, wellness & fitness benefits, career coaching, inclusive family building benefits, long-term savings or retirement plans, and in-office culinary options.
This role is based in Vancouver, BC with an office-centric hybrid schedule (Mon, Tue, Thu in office).
