Senior Product Engineer

Replit is the agentic software creation platform that enables anyone to build applications using natural language. With millions of users worldwide, Replit is democratizing software development by removing traditional barriers to application creation.

Product Foundry is Replit's internal engine for innovation, moving Replit beyond a collaborative development environment to becoming the foundational operating system for the next generation of software, where AI Agents are the primary actors. The goal is to launch high-risk, full-stack 0→1 initiatives that define and establish entirely new, multi-billion-dollar product categories. This is a high visibility role reporting to the Execution Model: High-Agency Founding Teams. Initiatives are run by lean, autonomous squads built for velocity and maximum technical leverage, centered around an Engineer DRI (Directly Responsible Individual) who maintains total ownership over the initiative's technical, product, and launch success, supported by fractional PM and Design resources. Cadence: rapid iteration and rapid market validation via 3-week sprints per initiative.

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Technical company founding entrepreneurial or high visibility side projects experience preferred but not required
• Understanding of the full agentic software development stack, helping coding agents build, test and review correct code
• Strong track record leading complex projects with cross-functional stakeholders
• Experience building and operating platform systems that other teams depend on
• Strong product judgment: you can balance UX, speed, correctness, and long-term maintainability
• Comfort working in modern web stacks such as TypeScript, React, Node.js, Postgres

• Helping Replit Agent build viable alternatives to the world’s most popular SaaS vendors (Data, Decks, Videos, etc)
• Replit Agent becoming a full principal within a large number of third party services (read and write)
• You can use Replit fully within a wide range of chat, agentic and commerce environments

Base salary for this role ranges from $180K – $290K, with equity offered. This is a full-time role that can be held from our Foster City, CA office. The role has an in-office requirement of Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
