Senior Software Engineer, Fullstack (Consumer Engineering)

Affirm's Consumer Growth Experience Engineering (CGX) team builds the platforms and end-to-end experiences that power Affirm's consumer growth across push, email, app, and web. The team owns core engagement surfaces and systems that help customers discover value, onboard seamlessly, and take confident next steps using personalization, segmentation, and experimentation. The work sits at the intersection of product, analytics, design, platform, and growth, focusing on scalable, reliable tooling and consumer experiences that enable rapid go-to-market, improve conversion and activation, and grow long-term customer value.

• Own and deliver quarterly goals for the team, leading engineers through ambiguity to solve open-ended problems.
• Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics in the product development lifecycle, articulating technical constraints and partnering on decisions that consider risks and trade-offs.
• Proactively identify project, process, technology, or business issues, advocate for them, and lead in solving them.
• Support operations and availability of team artifacts by creating and monitoring metrics, escalating when needed, and supporting on-call efforts.
• Foster a culture of quality and ownership by setting or improving code review and design standards, and advocating beyond the team through writing and tech talks.
• Help develop talent by providing feedback and guidance, and leading by example.

• Experience leading significant mobile initiatives (React Native or native), including defining architecture, coordinating cross-functional launches, and maintaining high reliability in production.
• Experience working across React Native and native boundaries (Swift/Kotlin), debugging platform-specific issues, and improving developer tooling, CI/CD, and release processes for mobile apps.
• Experience implementing experimentation, feature flagging, and analytics instrumentation in mobile applications.
• Experience shipping web apps using declarative UI frameworks like React or Vue.
• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript.
• 4+ years of experience as a software engineer.
• Experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale using technologies like Python, Kotlin, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
• Experience defining technical plans for significant features with elegant, simple, and extensible design, and writing high-quality code.
• Proficiency in making significant changes in a large codebase with tools and practices for safety.
• Ownership of growth, proactively seeking feedback from team, manager, and stakeholders.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with a global engineering team.
• Equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor's degree in a related field.

USA base pay range (CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT): $195,000 - $255,000 per year. USA base pay range (all other U.S. states): $173,000 - $233,000 per year. Total compensation may include equity rewards, monthly stipends for health, wellness, and tech spending, and benefits including 100% subsidized medical coverage, dental, and vision for you and your dependents. Affirm is a remote-first company with a grade-based compensation structure.
