Senior Software Engineer, Web App Performance

As a Senior Software Engineer on Asana's Performance & Scalability team in Vancouver, you will improve web application performance and ensure feature scalability for our largest customers. You'll lead frontend infrastructure initiatives, mentor engineers, and collaborate with infrastructure teams.

• Lead, design, and execute technical initiatives to improve Asana's web application performance.
• Investigate and resolve high-impact scalability issues.
• Work across the shared tech stack including frontend infrastructure, data loading, and asynchronous executions.
• Collaborate with Infrastructure teams to enhance visibility into performance and scalability.
• Empower engineers to address root causes of performance issues.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on frontend infrastructure and performance optimization.
• Drive technical projects and communicate technical investments to business impact.

• 6+ years of professional software development with large codebases.
• 3+ years in modern frontend web technologies focusing on frontend infrastructure (data fetching, routing, build systems).
• Experience leading technical projects and driving changes in complex systems.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Passion for web performance optimization and scalability.
• Curiosity about AI tools and emerging technologies.
• Experience or willingness to mentor other engineers.

Base salary range: $176,000 - $200,000 CAD. Additional components may include equity and benefits.
