Role
Join the Capital Orchestration team, responsible for providing liquidity to Affirm by enabling the sale and collateralization of Affirm loan assets. The team develops a robust platform for on-demand transactions with low operational risk, scaling to billions of dollars of collateral movement each month.
Responsibilities
- Build a foundational platform to reconcile transactions across systems, partners, and cash movements.
- Build and integrate data pipelines from various products and systems.
- Build intuitive user experiences to streamline workflows for business counterparts.
- Develop deep understanding of capital systems powering Affirm.
- Partner with engineers to improve designs, code quality, and testing.
- Collaborate with product managers and business counterparts to design best-in-class systems.
- Break down larger projects into tasks, deliver in phases, and ensure timely delivery.
- Support operations and availability of team artifacts by creating and monitoring metrics, escalating when needed, and supporting on-call efforts.
Qualifications
- 1.5+ years of experience as a software engineer.
- Fluency in full stack web development, back end development, event processing, or batch processing.
- Experience designing, building, launching, and maintaining products at scale.
- Strong cross-team communication and collaboration skills.
- Proficiency with agentic coding.
- Knowledge of Python, JavaScript/React, Airflow, Spark, Horizon Portal, and SQL is a plus.
- Ability to turn simple problems into solutions interacting with multiple software components, writing clear, tested, extensible code.
- Comfortable navigating large codebases, debugging, and providing feedback through code reviews.
- Proactive, organized, curious, self-starter.
- Equivalent practical experience or Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Compensation
Base pay range (CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT): $165,000 - $225,000 USD per year. Base pay range (all other U.S. states): $146,000 - $206,000 USD per year. Total compensation may include equity rewards, monthly stipends for health, wellness and tech spending, and benefits.
