Sr. Full Stack Software Engineer - Product Engineering

Betterment is a technology-driven financial services company offering investing, savings, and retirement solutions, including 401(k) for small and medium-sized businesses. Headquartered in NYC.

The Product Engineering team builds customer-facing applications. We are seeking Senior Full Stack Engineers to lead initiatives, collaborate with Product and Design, and deliver high-quality software.

• Lead medium-to-large scale initiatives, adhering to best practices.
• Collaborate with Product & Design to build delightful experiences.
• Balance innovation with performance and security.
• Mentor less experienced engineers.
• Contribute to open communication and continuous improvement.

• Strong experience in object-oriented programming; Ruby on Rails preferred.
• Experience with Java, Python, C#, or Node.js.
• Proficiency in React.js or similar frontend frameworks.
• Experience building APIs using GraphQL.
• Proficiency with relational databases, including schema design and SQL.
• Strong command of algorithms and data structures.
• Proven ability to lead cross-team projects.

Base salary range for New York City: $170,000 - $195,000. Eligible for variable compensation in the form of a company incentive bonus.
