Staff Engineer, Code Generation

The Code Gen team builds AI-powered code transformation tools that modernize legacy applications into microservices-based architectures on MongoDB. We are seeking a Staff Engineer with domain expertise in modernizing legacy applications and experience leveraging AI, particularly LLMs and GenAI, for reliable automation of code transformation, build, and test processes.

• Lead the Code Gen team in designing, building, and optimizing code transformation workflow and tools.
• Drive architectural vision and technical strategy for code gen tools, leveraging GenAI to build reliable and scalable building blocks.
• Partner with product managers, AI researchers, and engineers to translate requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Define and champion engineering best practices, patterns, and standards across teams.
• Collaborate with security and product teams to ensure secure execution of code generation and LLM-based tasks.

• 8+ years of experience in software development and operations.
• Experience with relational databases such as Oracle, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, or PostgreSQL.
• Experience with code analysis, refactoring, and automated testing tools.
• Practical knowledge of integrating GenAI into large-scale systems.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience leading design and development of complex workflows for AI model integration.

Base salary range for this role in Canada: $159,000—$221,000 CAD.
