Staff Product Manager, Developer Experience

Fivetran and dbt Labs are joining forces to deliver a unified data infrastructure layer. As the Staff Product Manager for Developer Experience, you will own the end-to-end developer workflow in dbt Cloud: the Studio IDE, Developer Agent (AI coding assistant), Cloud CLI, and the dbt VS Code Extension. You will partner with the Fusion team to integrate Fusion-powered intelligence into developer surfaces and co-define the platform-product boundary. This is a full-time hybrid role based in New York, NY, requiring two days in the office per week.

• Own the developer experience roadmap across Studio IDE, Developer Agent, Cloud CLI, and VS Code Extension.
• Partner with the Fusion team to surface Fusion-powered intelligence (SQL comprehension, compute, context) through developer-facing UX.
• Lead AI-native product development for Developer Agent, including agentic workflows, context-aware suggestions, and natural language interactions.
• Drive IDE and tooling strategy informed by modern development environments like VS Code and Cursor.
• Collaborate with engineering, design, and GTM teams to ship high-quality developer experiences.
• Build feedback loops with the dbt community and enterprise customers.
• Conduct market and user research on developer tooling and AI-assisted development.
• Align developer experience investments with company goals and product-led growth metrics.

• 5+ years of product management experience, with meaningful time on developer tools, IDEs, or technical platforms.
• Direct experience managing IDE or developer environment products.
• Demonstrated engagement with AI-powered development tools (e.g., Copilot, Cursor, Devin).
• Strong technical foundation to work fluently with engineering partners.
• Experience conducting user research and translating feedback into prioritized work.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Comfort working asynchronously in a distributed team.

• Hands-on experience with dbt or similar SQL-first transformation frameworks.
• Prior experience building or shipping AI agent features.
• Familiarity with LSP, tree-sitter, or other IDE infrastructure primitives.
• Experience with CLI tooling and developer workflow automation.
• Background in open source software development.
• Knowledge of modern data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, Redshift).

New York Pay Range: $243,936—$304,920 USD.
