Staff Software Engineer - Frontend (NYC)

Databricks is building the Data Intelligence Platform, and this role is one of the first engineering positions in the NYC Engineering office, working on a small, nimble team to build vertical AI applications from the ground up. This is a 0-to-1 environment combining startup agility with Databricks' resources.

• Create novel interfaces for GenAI agents that manage complex workflows with human-in-the-loop inspectability and transparency.
• Partner with product management, design, and engineering teams to build intuitive, extensible products.
• Lead hands-on front-end and full-stack development while working directly with customers.
• Enable product-led growth through seamless onboarding and sharing capabilities.
• Direct the future of agentic applications at Databricks.

• 10 years of experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript or similar technologies.
• Product mindset with ability to translate ambiguous customer problems into MVPs and iterate based on data and user feedback.
• High ownership and bias for action in 0→1 environments.
• Strong collaboration across product, engineering, and design teams.
• Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, or VueJs/Ember).
• Familiarity with server-side web technologies (e.g., Node.js), SQL, and Spark.

Local pay range: $190,900—$253,750 USD. Total compensation may include annual performance bonus and equity.
