Staff+ Software Engineer, Platform Ecosystem

Anthropic is a public benefit corporation focused on creating reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. The Platform Ecosystem team empowers industries to build on Claude and creates commercial rails for businesses on the platform. This is a founding team role driving 0→1 efforts from ideation to delivery, partnering with product, design, research, and forward-deployed engineers.

• Verticals: Build for next API markets such as Life Sciences & Healthcare, working with cross-functional teams to understand industry needs and build capabilities, integrations, and workflows for safe adoption of Claude.
• Monetization: Design and operate systems for pricing, packaging, and selling on Claude, at the intersection of product, platform infrastructure, and go-to-market.

• Have a minimum of 8 years of practical experience as a backend or platform engineer, with some frontend experience.
• Have strong product sense and technical chops to tackle a wide variety of challenges.
• Are familiar with using AI tools as part of the software development process.
• Take a product-focused approach to platform work and care about robust, scalable, easy-to-use solutions.
• Take full ownership of work from design through build, deployment, and operations.
• Can navigate ambiguity and make sound technical decisions independently.

Annual salary: $405,000—$485,000 USD.

San Francisco, CA or New York City, NY. Hybrid policy: all staff expected in office at least 25% of the time.
