About the Role

CoreWeave is The Essential Cloud for AI™, delivering a platform for AI innovation. The Physical AI Field Engineering team deploys AI solutions within enterprise engineering organizations. We are seeking a Staff Specialist Field Engineer to establish and lead our Autonomous Vehicles (L4-5) vertical, defining customer engagement, setting technical standards, and leading complex engagements from first contact to embedded deployment.

Responsibilities

  • Define how the team engages with autonomous vehicle customers and set the technical standard for the practice.
  • Lead complex customer engagements from first contact through embedded deployment and expansion.
  • Build and validate ML solutions independently using CoreWeave's AI platform (including Monolith, Marimo, and W&B Models).
  • Build and iterate on customer-facing applications tailored to autonomous vehicle use cases.
  • Gather and synthesize signals from real customer deployments to inform product development.
  • Contribute to the Physical AI knowledge framework and provide product signals.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years experience in autonomous vehicle systems development, perception engineering, motion planning, or AI/ML for L4-5 autonomous systems.
  • Deep familiarity with sensor modalities (camera, LiDAR, radar) and long-tail distribution challenges.
  • Hands-on ML capability: build, validate, and deploy ML solutions in Python using modern ML frameworks.
  • Proficient in JupyterHub, VS Code, Marimo, and W&B Models.
  • Working knowledge of ML approaches: perception, object detection, motion prediction, closed-loop simulation, or anomaly detection.
  • Proven experience leading complex technical customer engagements and managing multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Strong understanding of the autonomous vehicle development pipeline, including closed-loop simulation and safety case validation.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related technical discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of functional safety standards (ISO 26262, SOTIF).
  • Experience with simulation environments (CARLA, LGSVL).
  • Familiarity with edge deployment of ML models.
  • Experience identifying expansion opportunities.
  • Track record of contributing to knowledge frameworks or publications.
  • Experience with AI infrastructure or MLOps.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary range: $161,000 - $215,000. Total rewards include discretionary bonus, equity awards, and comprehensive benefits: medical, dental, vision insurance (100% paid), life insurance, short/long-term disability, tuition reimbursement, mental wellness benefits, family-forming support, paid parental leave, childcare support, 401(k) with match, flexible PTO, and catered lunch.
