Fivetran and dbt Labs are bringing together two industry-leading companies to deliver the data infrastructure layer that helps organizations move, transform, and trust their data. Fivetran automates data movement, and dbt Labs pioneered analytics engineering. We are looking for a Systems Engineer, Data and Integrations to build and maintain system-to-system and data integrations on our Systems Engineering team.
In this role, you will help develop our integration architecture, build and maintain reliable integrations that support business processes across multiple systems, and ensure the timeliness and accuracy of data flow. You will partner with other Systems and Engineering teams and business partner teams.
This is a full-time position based out of our Oakland, CA office with a hybrid work model (2 days in office per week).
Technologies You’ll Use
- Core systems: Salesforce, Netsuite, Coupa, Workday, Zendesk
- Integration stack: Celigo and Fivetran
- SQL and a general purpose programming language such as Python or Typescript
What You’ll Do
- Define preferred integration patterns with the Systems Engineering Architecture team
- Enforce standards, guidelines, and governance for data and process integration
- Handle inquiries from technical teams, often requiring investigation and code changes
- Work with business partner teams to understand processes and build integrations
- Plan and execute integration engineering end-to-end
- Ensure integrations are proactively monitored, create dashboards and alerts
Skills We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in Systems Engineering roles with a focus on integrating data and applications
- Proficiency in a general purpose programming language
- Strong SQL proficiency
- Working knowledge of business applications such as Salesforce, Netsuite, Coupa, Workday, and Zendesk
- Ability to balance short-term tactical needs with long-term strategic vision
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Bonus Skills
- Familiarity with iPaaS platforms and reverse ETL tools
- Experience with data pipelines (ETL/ELT) and SQL for data validation or monitoring
Compensation
Oakland Pay Range: $126,533—$151,846 USD
