About the job
MongoDB's Technical Services (TS) team uses problem-solving and customer service skills with deep technical experience to advise customers and solve complex MongoDB problems. The Curriculum Engineer will work with the TS Enablement program to create and maintain technical education modules for new and upskilling team members.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and improve internal training materials (videos, slides, reference materials, evaluations).
- Identify technical and procedural training needs across the team.
- Foster a culture of continual learning, skill sharing through live training, coaching, and mentoring.
- Build out the training curriculum, module hierarchy, and training policies.
- Foster subject-matter expert contributions to technical content.
- Establish and report on training KPIs and success metrics.
- Create environments and technical exercises for hands-on engineering workshops.
- Improve practices and tooling for the training content lifecycle.
- Evaluate and recommend effective delivery methods and cadence for training.
- Work with a globally distributed team across multiple time zones.
Requirements
- Experience developing and delivering technical education/training.
- Experience consolidating and presenting technical concepts from subject-matter experts.
- Familiarity with course development methodologies.
- Proven success in creating, delivering, and managing effective hands-on learning.
- Desire and ability to rapidly learn a wide variety of new technical skills.
- One or more of: experience using/managing databases, coding in MongoDB-supported languages (Python, Node.js, Java, Ruby, C#, etc.), managing software development projects/processes/SDLC, system administration of Linux servers/networks, technical support experience, data analysis experience, experience evaluating training effectiveness.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

- Experience using or managing MongoDB.
- Experience with Jira or Salesforce.
- Experience with Just-in-Time learning approaches.
- Experience with gamification of learning.

Compensation and Benefits
Base salary range for this role in Canada is $115,000—$160,000 CAD.
