Role Overview
The Vice President of Brand is responsible for leading Algolia’s global brand strategy and creative presence. This seasoned marketing leader will lead a team of in-house and agency creatives to develop a differentiated brand strategy, positioning Algolia as the company defining a new category – 'Retrieval Intelligence' – within the Discovery Economy. The VP of Brand will own brand activations across target markets, verticals, and ICPs, translating strategy into brand campaigns that drive measurable increases in brand awareness, pipeline, and revenue growth.
Responsibilities
- Develop and own Algolia's global brand strategy, positioning, voice, and visual identity, ensuring alignment to GTM strategy.
- Lead planning and execution of brand campaigns and activations to produce measurable increases in brand awareness and impact to pipeline and revenue growth.
- Build, grow, and manage an in-house creative team to scale creative output.
- Own and optimize a portfolio of external agency relationships from selection through performance management.
- Partner with the CMO and marketing leadership team to define how brand investment supports broader GTM and revenue goals.
- Drive brand adoption and consistency across internal teams, partner ecosystem, and customer base.
- Establish brand health metrics and reporting that connect brand performance to business impact.
- Partner with Product Marketing, Demand Generation, Field Marketing, and Corporate Communications to integrate brand campaigns into broader marketing programs.
- Manage the brand budget, balancing investment across campaigns, agencies, and internal team growth.
- Represent brand at the executive level, communicating strategy, results, and investment needs to senior leadership.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in brand strategy and brand marketing, with a track record of leading brand activations and campaign execution at global scale.
- Demonstrated success driving measurable increases in brand awareness that connect directly to business/performance outcomes.
- Experience building, growing, and managing in-house creative teams from the ground up.
- Extensive experience managing external creative and brand agencies, including scoping, selection, and performance accountability.
- Strong executive communication and collaboration skills, with experience operating as a key member of a marketing leadership team.
- A track record of driving brand adoption across complex, cross-functional organizations.
- Experience in B2B SaaS marketing is a plus.
- Familiarity with brand tracking and measurement tools, and connecting brand metrics to pipeline/revenue systems.
Nice to Have
- Experience building a brand for a developer-facing, platform, or technical product company.
- Experience leading a brand through a major company milestone (IPO, acquisition, rebrand, or category creation).
- Global/international brand experience, including navigating regional nuance across NA, EMEA, and APAC.
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary Pay Range: $264,500—$300,000 USD. Algolia offers a Total Rewards philosophy, but specific benefits are not detailed in this posting.
