About the Role
Airbnb is seeking an experienced Community Engagement Lead to build and lead the Host Community strategy in Spain and Portugal. This role will regionally implement and iterate on Community programs that engage Hosts at scale, such as the Host Clubs program and Host events, while also innovating and testing new methods to influence the global community strategy. The role reports to the Community Regional Lead and collaborates with Country Manager, Policy, Legal, Marketing, Communications, and supply teams.
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary bridge between the local Airbnb team and the Host Community, coordinating cross-functional activities.
- Lead community growth, engagement, and impact projects from planning to delivery, including project plans, stakeholder coordination, and risk mitigation.
- Develop and execute local Community Programs with clear communication and efficient resource usage.
- Coordinate the activities and daily operations of one Community Engagement Manager.
- Develop and test new value propositions for growing host communities in Spain and Portugal.
- Design initiatives for the train-the-trainer model and content strategies to drive Host engagement.
- Lead and organize effective community events, both online and in-person.
- Identify country needs and develop in-market projects to drive Host success and business goals.
- Co-develop strategies with Supply teams to optimize host performance across quality, pricing, and availability.
- Leverage familiarity with STR regulatory environments to drive host engagement and education on compliance initiatives.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in Community Management, Strategy, Innovation, Operations, or Project Management.
- Strong strategic project management skills with experience leading programs and processes.
- Ability to approach community through a strategic business lens.
- Familiarity with regulatory environments.
- Entrepreneurial, solution-oriented, growth mindset.
- Highly autonomous and self-driven.
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Effective cross-functional partner with ability to influence through persuasion, negotiation, and consensus building.
- Passion for Airbnb and its mission.
- Spanish mother tongue and fluent English; ideally fluent in Portuguese.
- Based in Barcelona.
Compensation & Benefits
Spain Annual Pay Range: €80,000—€100,000 EUR. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
