About the job
Company: Ramp is building the smart infrastructure for finance teams, automating how over $200B in annualized spend flows in and out of 70,000+ companies. They hire people with high agency and high urgency, and look for slope over intercept.
Role: Ramp is hiring a Director of Technical Consulting to lead the post-sales Technical Consultant (TC) organization. This leader will own how Ramp helps complex customers move from signed deal to successful activation, with focus on technical implementation, integrations, and the operating model that allows the team to scale. This is a post-sales delivery role, not a quota-carrying pre-sales leadership position.
Responsibilities: Lead and develop the Technical Consulting organization, including frontline managers; define the operating model (team structure, capacity planning, engagement rules, escalation paths, partnership model with Customer Success, Account Management, and Forward Deployed Engineering); build repeatable implementation and activation motions for enterprise and strategic customers; navigate technical tradeoffs across APIs, data flows, identity, HRIS, ERP, and other connected systems; partner with Product and Engineering to turn recurring needs into product capabilities; establish KPIs for implementation quality, activation, technical risk, capacity, and outcomes; coach managers and ICs on scope management; serve as senior escalation leader; work with Sales and Account Management on clean handoffs.
Qualifications: 10+ years leading customer-facing technical delivery in SaaS, fintech, infrastructure, or enterprise software; 5+ years of people leadership including leading managers; experience in a high-growth company; track record of leading multi-month complex customer implementations; strong technical implementation judgment (APIs, data flows, system constraints); experience working with Product and Engineering; ability to build operating mechanisms; clear executive communication and stakeholder management. Nice to have: experience with financial systems, spend management, or enterprise finance products; familiarity with ERP, HRIS, identity, or procurement platforms; experience using AI tools to improve technical troubleshooting or workflows.
Compensation: Total OTE range $269,280 – $411,000 USD with a 75/25 base to commission split. Equity and commission offered. SF/NYC range: $299,000 – $411,000; Nationwide range: $269,280 – $370,260.
Benefits: Flexible PTO, health and wellness stipend, 100% medical/dental/vision insurance (US), 401(k) with employer match, fertility HRA, parental leave up to 16 weeks at 100% pay, relocation expense coverage to NYC or SF, in-office perks, and more.
