About the role
Anthropic is hiring a Head of Community to turn its current community programs into a function that helps millions of people build real skills with Claude, measurably growing retained users and product adoption. The role leads and grows a global team covering ambassadors programs, regional community leads, and enterprise champion programs, and sits at the intersection of Product, Sales, PMM, Brand, and Comms.
Key responsibilities
- Own the global community strategy and operating model, including the audience thesis, program portfolio, and what is built centrally vs. run in-region.
- Lead, coach, and scale a global team of program and regional owners.
- Define the measurement framework with Product and Data Science, segmenting the base (non-user → occasional → high-value daily) with recurring retained users and product adoption as top-line outcomes.
- Build community across audiences and seniority levels, from enterprise buyers and executive sponsors to developers and knowledge workers.
- Connect bottoms-up adoption to enterprise expansion through champions, train-the-trainer, and partner ecosystem motions integrated into Sales and CS strategic account plans.
- Bring training, certification, enablement, and community help into one engine that scales through champions and partners.
- Partner with Brand and Comms to keep sentiment and awareness healthy.
- Align community strategy with product direction, launches, and pricing & packaging.
Minimum qualifications
- Built and led a community or customer advocacy function where community was a growth lever, with demonstrated retention, adoption, or expansion outcomes.
- Led and developed a distributed team of program owners and regional leads accountable for commercial impact.
- Comfortable owning a metric in a QBR and defending how community moved it.
- Connected self-serve, bottoms-up adoption inside large accounts to enterprise expansion.
- Experience with both technical, API-first developer communities and enterprise executive buyer communities.
- Operates as an integrated marketer and partners with Product and Data Science to define and instrument usage quality.
- Writes and communicates clearly, holding a room with both a Staff engineer and a CIO.
Preferred qualifications
- Run community or advocacy at a company operating both PLG/self-serve and enterprise sales motions.
- Built or led a recognized champions, ambassadors, or advocacy program.
- Experience with developer tools, infrastructure, or AI products.
- Built measurement plumbing including cohorting, attribution, and usage segmentation.
- International experience scaling community in-region (EMEA, Japan/APAC).
- Background spanning community, customer marketing, developer relations, customer education/enablement, or growth.
