About the Role
Instacart seeks an experienced analytics professional specialized in advanced experimentation and attribution modeling to join the Measurement Science Team in Media Analytics. The role develops sophisticated measurement solutions demonstrating advertising effectiveness on the Instacart platform, working with multi-retailer 1st party deterministic data to provide causal understanding of advertising impact on consumer behavior. Represents Instacart's measurement capabilities internally and externally to leading CPG brands and agency partners.

The Measurement Science Team is advertiser-facing, using experimentation and custom analytics to help advertisers understand the effectiveness of their advertising spend. It is part of the broader Media Analytics organization.
About the Job
- Design and execute advanced experiments that prove advertising value and optimize campaigns
- Analyze experiment data to produce nuanced recommendations for improving ad performance and measurement outcomes
- Tailor measurement approaches with innovative metrics and data visualizations
- Partner with stakeholders to shape media measurement strategies and address complex challenges
- Present findings with executive presence to senior clients, educating them on methodologies
- Lead discussions, trainings, and Q&A sessions as a thought leader on ad measurement and experimentation
- Identify strategic opportunities, including client upsell potential or internal operational improvements
- Develop customized analytical solutions, including code, dashboards, and self-service tools
- Apply AI tools (Claude, Cursor, internal AI platform) to raise quality and speed
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field (Engineering, Mathematics/Statistics, Finance, Economics, Business)
- 6+ years in data and measurement or consulting with demonstrated statistical data analytics expertise
- 3+ years in advertising efficacy, media/marketing measurement, and experimentation
- Advanced experimentation techniques including A/B testing, holdout designs, and incrementality measurement
- Strong data storytelling and visualization skills using tools like Tableau or Mode
- Experience developing self-service tools and dashboards
- Strong SQL skills and proficiency in statistical programming (Python/R)
- Track record of turning analytics insights into strategic recommendations
Preferred Qualifications
- 4+ years conducting and presenting lift measurement studies to clients
- Experience directing sales teams in an analytic/quantitative capacity
- Advanced statistical knowledge including marketing mix modeling, Bayesian analysis, and causal inference
- Ability to automate processes using AI-driven tools and workflows
- Advanced experimental methodologies including A/A testing and SRM detection
- Knowledge of ad auction mechanics, targeting algorithms, and attribution models
Compensation & Benefits
This role is remote. For Canadian-based candidates, the base pay range is CAN$140,000—$148,000 CAD. The role is eligible for a new hire equity grant as well as annual refresh grants.
