Sales Development Representative II, Local Independent Grocery - New York

Instacart is seeking a Sales Development Representative II to join its Local Independent Grocery team within Strategic Partnerships. The role focuses on identifying, contacting, and qualifying independent retailers as potential partners for the Instacart Marketplace, as well as closing small business opportunities.

The SDR team engages independent retailers and sets meetings to help them explore opportunities on the Instacart Marketplace. The team builds relationships and identifies retailers ready to grow their online presence, working across grocery, alcohol, and other retail businesses.

• Prospect and engage independent retailers to join the Instacart Marketplace.
• Manage the end-to-end sales cycle for small opportunities.
• Use cold calls and emails to identify new opportunities, drive value, and establish relationships with local retailers.
• Develop sales collateral, case studies, and custom stories to translate the benefits of Instacart's platform.
• Work independently while collaborating with the team to achieve individual and team objectives.

Minimum: Previous experience in sales or business development; strong written and verbal communication; proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and KPIs; excellent organizational and project management skills; detail-oriented; ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment.

Preferred: Knowledge of the grocery industry; experience selling SaaS solutions; familiarity with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and sales engagement tools.

This role is remote and offers base pay ranges that vary by location. For US-based candidates, the ranges are: CA, NY, CT, NJ: $27.88—$29.33 USD; WA: $26.44—$27.89 USD; OR, DE, ME, MA, MD, NH, RI, VT, DC, PA, VA, CO, TX, IL, HI: $25.48—$26.93 USD; all other states: $23.08—$24.28 USD. The role is eligible for a new hire equity grant and annual refresh grants.
