About the job
Vanta is a Trust Management Platform that helps businesses build, maintain, and demonstrate security and compliance (SOC 2, HIPAA, ISO 27001) continuously. The EPD Systems team builds the infrastructure Vanta's engineering, product, and design organization depends on to understand itself and operate well, constructing three interlocking layers: sources of truth, a shared interpretive layer, and the operating system that makes work legible.
This Senior Systems Designer role owns the operating system — it is not a traditional PMO or status-reporting role. You design and own workflow and hierarchy across engineering, product, and design in Jira; build the agents and automation that run the system yourself, with AI as part of how you work; drive adoption by changing teams' practice to match the substrate; and understand delivery breakdowns at the mechanism level, fixing root causes rather than symptoms.
Success requires recent, shipped work — no CS degree or formal engineering tenure required. You build and ship with AI as part of how you work, find the mechanism that's actually failing before reaching for a tool, move toward a solution without waiting for a green light, learn new AI tooling proactively, get things adopted without authority, and are accountable for outcomes, not just artifacts.
Compensation: cash range $207K – $244K, plus equity. The role is also eligible for medical benefits, 401(k) plan, and other company perk programs.
Benefits include comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage (100% of employee-only premiums covered for most medical plans), 16 weeks paid parental leave, health & wellness stipend, remote workspace/internet/cellphone stipends, commuter benefits for SF/NYC office reporters, family planning benefits, matching 401(k) with immediate vesting, flexible PTO plus 80 hours of sick time, and 11 company-paid holidays.
This is a remote U.S. role (#LI-remote).
